Team Representatives and Background
We have a global track record in fibre optic technology innovation, component development, hermetic packaging, design & manufacture. We are highly experienced in the design and development of large-scale as well as small scale mechanical assemblies and we have a strong background in assembly jig and fixture designs and developing successful processes for production.
We can advise on manufacturing problems and process optimisation and we have substantial experience in using a number of the best mechanical and optical design tools available allowing us to simulate the performance of the real product most accurately. This gives the customer the fastest and lowest risk route to manufacture.

Adrian Janssen B.Sc. , Ph.D.
Adrian has carried out research in the fields of surface physics and materials in several top UK universities before extending his career into industry with the birth of commercial fibre-optics in the early ‘80’s. He has strived to bring together the rigours of an academic research background with the innovative mindset of competitive industry and commerce. He is the author of about fifty published papers and over thirty patents covering the fields of crystal growth, surface physics, lasers, fibre-optics and has been an invited contributor to many international technical conferences as well as the recipient of a number of prestigious industry awards. He is currently honorary Professor of Engineering at Exeter University.

Bob Musk B.Sc. , CPhys, CSci.
Bob has pursued a very successful career for over forty years in the fields of optoelectronics and microelectronics and has been a pioneer in the development and manufacture of optoelectronic components for the telecoms industry. Bob’s experience spans the entire evolution of photonic products from R&D to high volume manufacture. He has worked in senior positions with many hi-tech companies throughout the world at many international sites including USA, Japan and Singapore active in international standards, multi-source committees and supplier collaborations with an extensive technical network and market insight. He was awarded the 1994 Institute of Physics Patterson Prize for exceptional early career contributions to the application of physics in an industrial/commercial context and holds 38 patents related to fibre optic technology. Bob has also run a photonics and packaging consultancy.
