We are a small team of highly qualified scientists and engineers with many decades of experience in developing high-tech products for manufacture primarily for the fibre-optics market as well as designing larger scale mechanical systems. Our mission is to provide customers with a level of technical expertise not available within their company. Our value is our ability to find fast solutions and to progress designs to manufacture in the most efficient and cost-effective way.

History and background
Torbay in the South-West of England has been the global technical centre of excellence for the design and manufacture of laser and fibre optics components for more than forty years and has been the birthplace of this technology. Our team has grown from the world class expertise centred in this region of the country and expanded to a wide range of technologies. Although Hamlyns Technology is a young company, it provides the experience and benefit of these world-class skills to other companies. We recognise that industry operating strategies are evolving towards outsourcing specialised technical skills and we are keen to provide these where they are not internally available.

Achievements and Awards
We have worked successfully with technology startups as well as with large established companies in the last few years to develop their ideas and help bring them to fruition. We have also provided technical consultancy to university research groups and have jointly been awarded a substantial EPSRC grant for developing new technology.
